Run Along Farms

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of working with Run Along Farms on some images for their website. I met Julie and Doug Biegert several years ago while shooting several endurance rides and since that time I have come to look forward to seeing them and their beautiful horses. One does not need to look much beyond the condition of their animals or their facility to realize quickly how pampered their horses are. Run Along Farms is a full service training facility specializing in endurance and competitive distance horses.

I could spend hours talking about Julie and Doug, but I’ll let the pictures speak for them:

Khasper was definitely in a playful mood the entire time I was at the farm

I would like to thank both Julie and Doug for allowing me the opportunity of working with them, they are the consummate professionals and our next horse will definitely come from them!

2010 Lincoln Trails Endurance Ride – Girls Just wanna have Fun!

One of our favorite events is endurance rides, I have become close friends with many of the riders and I just enjoy being outdoors. Every ride it seems there is one or two riders that make the event worth it and the 2010 Lincoln Trails was no exception.

On Sunday, the last two riders were Jen Allen and Robin Schadt. Robin decided at the last second while crossing the infamous wooden bridge to imitate let loose and do the dance!

Here is Robin just havin fun!

Dead Dog Creek

Dead Dog Creek is a Competitive Distance / Endurance Ride that is a UMECRA sanctioned ride at Stephen Forbes State Park in Kinmundy, IL. The ride in 2009 will be memorable if for no other reason than the day before, it rained – and rained – and rained some more. As a matter of fact the ride was delayed 4 1/2 hours on Saturday due to the rain. I left Springfield, IL Friday evening around 5pm for the 2 hour drive to Salem, IL which is where I would be staying during the ride. The sky was cloudy in Springfield but there had been no rain. Once I reached Litchfield, IL the rains came and they did not stop until I was just outside of Salem.

I thought that the worst was over, but I was wrong. No sooner had I parked the truck at the motel that the skies opened up again the rains came and poured for the rest of the night. As much fun as I had that weekend, I was very happy to get back to a dry Springfield!

Here are a few images from that weekend. Despite the rain, it was an enjoyable weekend with plenty of friends and beautiful horses.
